Summer has finally arrived.

International Festival Week

August 7th at 11:00a.m. services we will celebrate the families and individuals who have created and maintained Calais UMC over the long and interesting history of the Methodist Congregations in the Calais area. We would like to have those associated with the congregation currently and in the past to join in this celebration. Come for a presentation of our (your) history, fellowship with people you may not have seen in years or fellowship with those you see daily and stay for lunch. Please, let us know if you will be attending. (God will stretch the meal but some of us like to have a count.) Phone the church office at 207-454-3926 or email at calaisumc@yahoo.com.

Food Pantry News

The Irene Chadbourne Ecumenical Food Pantry provides physical sustenance to those in the Calais are with distribution of food each Thursday of the month. Calais UMC is responsible for providing workers on the 4th Thursday of each month. If you would like to participate in this ministry, please join us on the 4th Thursday at 9:30am at the food pantry.

Nonperishable food items may be dropped off at the church on Tuesday from 10:00-3:00 during administrative hours or during event hours when the doors are open. Pasta, breakfast cereal, rice, canned items (soup, beans, milk, vegetables, tuna, meat, fruit) and dried beans are always needed.

Please, join us on the 4th Thursday of a month to help pack food or stock shelves.

Small Group Activities

UMW meets on the First Thursday of each month in the upper level meeting room at 1:00pm. All women of the church are welcome. Why not join and contribute your ideas and mission work experiences.

Centering Prayer meets Wednesday at 4:30pm.

Reading group meets monthly for review and fellowship.

Several AA groups meet weekly as well as TOPS and Weight Watchers.

Church office hours are 10:00am - noon and 1:00pm - 3:00 on Tuesday.
